BILL
ALLEN
OWNER
With seven seasons under his belt as an owner of the Charlotte Knights and
partner with Knights Baseball, LLC, Bill Allen begins his eighth season with
the organization.
Allen, 55, has spent the past 31 years as an entrepreneur in the Charlotte area,
and along with his ownership duties with the Knights, he is also president of
Republic Crane and Equipment.
Allen has also been active in area real estate development as a partner in such
projects as Dilworth Crescent, Ivey's Townhomes, Factory South, The Arlington
and Carmel Crescent. He is also an organizer and director of Scottish Bank in
Charlotte.
Allen is no stranger to baseball management. He is a partner of the Pittsburgh
Pirates, and for many years, he was involved in organizing, managing and playing
baseball for Charlotte's 30-and-over baseball league.
Allen grew up in the northeastern United States, but has called Charlotte home
for the last 32 years. He is an avid runner and enjoys spending his spare time
at Knights Stadium and PNC Park in Pittsburgh.
Allen has four daughters and three grandchildren and will celebrate his 31st
wedding anniversary with his wife, Sharon, this summer.
